Recently, on December 3rd, MegaEdu was present at and participated in the Math Open Day 2023 in Ho Chi Minh City (MOD HCM 2023), held at the Bilingual International School of Canada, District 7, Ho Chi Minh City. The event was organized by the Institute of Advanced Mathematics Research, Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, University of Natural Sciences - Ho Chi Minh City National University, and the Bilingual International School of Canada - Sedbergh Vietnam.
The Math Open Day is an event dedicated to Math and STEM in general, providing a space for students, university students, teachers, parents, and educators to discuss current topics in the field of education. The event consists of two main parts: specialized activities and experiential activities, running concurrently, with a focus on the theme "Teaching in the AI Era."
During the event, Mr. Tran Trong Nghia, CEO of MegaEdu, shared insights on the topic "Digital Transformation in Education."
According to Mr. Tran Trong Nghia, traditional teaching methods have certain drawbacks, such as passive absorption of knowledge by students, monotonous and boring teaching hours, and theoretical-centric content, limiting the application of skills in real life.
In the transition to the digital education model, these issues can be addressed. Digital education transformation helps personalize the learning process for students, promoting positivity and proactivity. In this model, teachers play a guiding and facilitating role, encouraging students to seek, explore, and debate knowledge in groups.
Successful digital transformation requires coordinated efforts, including improving infrastructure, innovating and adding modern teaching and learning tools in schools, standardizing the teacher workforce, enhancing students' active participation, and further promoting the socialization of education.
Electronic learning materials also play a crucial role in the digital transformation process by providing diverse and highly interactive resources, helping students and teachers enhance their knowledge absorption capabilities. Additionally, digital learning materials help schools and teachers save costs and time while allowing students to access the latest and most diverse knowledge.
In addition to Mr. Tran Trong Nghia, the event featured other speakers such as Prof. Dương Nguyên Vũ, Dr. Nguyễn Đại Nghĩa, MSc. Hoàng Minh Thông, and Dr. Lê Khánh Duy.
During the event, thousands of students from primary to high school in Ho Chi Minh City and nearby provinces participated in experiential activities related to the application of mathematics, STEM, and AI under the theme "In the Magical Wonderland of Mathematics."
