MegaEdu supports the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training in organizing foreign language proficiency surveys for nearly 200,000 students in grades 9 and 11

The foreign language proficiency assessment is an annual activity organized by the Department of Education and Training in Ho Chi Minh City to evaluate the English language proficiency of students at all levels. It also serves as an evaluation of the implementation of the "Foreign Language Teaching and Learning Project in the National Education System for the 2017-2025 period" according to Decision 2080/QD-TTg issued by the Prime Minister.

This is the fourth consecutive time that MegaEdu has been honored to collaborate with the Department in conducting the English language proficiency assessment for 100% of students in grades 9 and 11. With a city-wide scale and an enormous number of participants, nearly 200,000 students, the platform provided by MegaEdu is considered a "savior" of the assessment. MegaEdu is currently the only unit capable of providing a high-capacity system with up to 7 million daily system accesses, offering a professional, lightweight, and accurate assessment format, which significantly saves costs and resources.

Students will have the flexibility to use computers, tablets, or smartphones to take the English language proficiency test based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). The test will cover the listening and reading skills with a duration of 80 minutes. With its academic strength, the test prepared by MegaEdu has been reviewed and approved by the Department of Education and Training in Ho Chi Minh City.

The assessment period takes place from April 15th to April 23rd, ensuring that all students attending 9th and 11th grades in junior high schools and high schools in the city must participate. Specifically, for 9th-grade students, the assessment will be conducted from April 15th to April 19th within predetermined time frames for each district and commune. For 11th-grade students, the assessment will take place from April 19th to April 23rd, scheduled according to specialized clusters.

After the competition, the MegaEdu system will automatically provide statistical results and analyze the students' proficiency and skills based on specific requirements from the Department of Education and Training. This assessment is not used to issue certificates or grade students' academic performance, but rather to support the Department in evaluating students' language proficiency. It also serves as a basis for the education sector to understand the current situation and prepare the necessary facilities and equipment for English language teaching and learning in schools. Consequently, the city will implement targets to maintain and enhance students' foreign language proficiency according to Action Program 03-CtrHĐ/ĐU by the Party Committee of the Department of Education and Training.

Furthermore, these focused foreign language assessments also provide an opportunity for students to become familiar with and gain confidence in the structure of internationally standardized exams.
