Many teachers believe that teaching with PowerPoint and projectors constitutes digital transformation. In reality, the use of information technology in education is just a part of the bigger picture.
Addressing these misconceptions, the distinction between "applying information technology and digital transformation" was a topic of discussion at the Digital Education conference held within the "Ho Chi Minh City Digital Transformation Week 2023" on October 17-18.
Mr. Ho Tan Minh, the head of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training, pointed out that information technology is an essential tool in digital transformation but not the entire solution. Digital transformation requires comprehensive changes in organization, processes, culture, and human participation in the implementation process.
In other words, schools need to focus on changing their practices, with technology serving as a means to an end.
"Data must be mined, standardized, and reused to truly become a valuable asset. Without annual standardization and reuse, data remains just data," emphasized Mr. Minh.
MegaEdu also believes that competition in the digital education transformation market is not solely about technological products but about finding the most suitable solutions for each school's unique needs.
Hence, the platforms designed and provided by MegaEdu are tailored to each school's specific requirements, rather than offering a one-size-fits-all technology. Moreover, all school resources, once standardized, are stored and reused each year.
Understanding the essence of digital transformation isn't difficult, but there are still many challenges in its implementation. MegaEdu is ready to assist schools in overcoming these obstacles on their digital transformation journey, creating a new learning environment where everything connects, geographical barriers are eliminated, and students' learning experiences are enriched, all while enhancing interaction among everyone involved.
